We aren't in Sheffield, but can we hire your vehicles?

Answer:  Yes.  We will be happy to quote for hire of our coach from your area through to your destination. Similarly, we are happy to take our open top bus to any venue. But please remember that it is a vintage vehicle and it is not as quick as our coach, so we may need to allow extra time for the journey. Please talk to us about your plans and we will be happy to advise.

How many passengers can we take?

Answer:  The coach has 49 passenger seats, all with belts. The open top bus can seat 47 on the upper deck and 36 downstairs, and although we can carry the full complement, we have found that a smaller number gives you more comfort and space to sit, plus flexibility in choosing your seats. We do not allow standing passengers on either vehicle, but if you have more passengers than seats we will be happy to offer an additional coach accordingly.

Do you check out the route for the vehicle before the day?

Answer: Yes. To help us make sure everything on the day runs smoothly, we familiarise ourselves with the route beforehand. We carry out a risk assessment of the route prior to hire of the open top bus, and an essential part is to check for obstacles such as low bridges, overhanging tree branches, overhead cables and narrow roads or gateways. On the day the driver will be looking out for flags and bunting that may not have been present when the route was checked.

What about the overhead wires for Sheffield Supertram?

Answer: We liaise with tram operators (including Stagecoach in Sheffield) and follow their advice regarding line height and clearances. In Sheffield we regret that it is not safe for us to drive you along any of the tram routes, although there are a number of points where we can cross under the wires. We will be happy to discuss your planned route and offer you alternatives if required.

Can we come and view your vehicles before we book?

Answer: Yes. If you would like to look around either vehicle before making a booking we are happy to accomodate you at the depot, by arrangement. Please check beforehand to make sure that the vehicle and a representative are available.

Can we drink alcohol on the open top bus?

Answer: No. The consumption of alcohol on board any of our vehicles is not allowed. We reserve the right to refuse carriage at any time to any passenger if our driver believes their condition may affect the safety of his vehicle or other members of the public.

Can we smoke upstairs on the open top bus?

Answer: No. Even though there is no roof, smoking upstairs is not permitted for safety reasons. Smoking is not permitted on the coach, although our driver will try and accomodate a stop for a cigarette break if requested.
